About Compevo We have been working with Eye Movement Recording since 1981. We were first involved in development of the ober2 system, that measured both eyes horizontally and vertically at speeds up to 1200 Hz. The biggest problem with this system was that the goggles didn't allow correction lenses. The system used a specially developed circuit board that was mounted inside a standard PC running MS-DOS.
Next development step was the Visagraph, that was introduced in 1994. Main objective was to make the system easier to use and to allow the subject to wear correction lenses. Data was transferred using serial communication. The first systems were made with software for MS-DOS. Later there were a version for Windows 3.X and Windows 95.
There were a number of different designs of the goggles.
In 2003, the Visagraph USB was released. Earlier systems did have enhanced insulation between measuring goggles and the computer, but did not fulfill all requirements for Medical Devices. The new version was fully compliant with IEC 60601-1 and used USB connection for communication and power. |
